What is OEKO-TEX?
Oeko-Tex is a collection of 18 independent research and testing institutions that certifies an array of industries on product safety issues within the textile industry. This organization uses offices around the globe to test and certify a number of textile products (think clothes, towels, and bedding). This organization tests textiles and textile products to make sure that they are free of harmful chemicals and are safe for human use.
Oeko-Tex Certification
STANDARD 100 from OEKO-TEX(r) is a well-known label certifying textiles to have been tested for harmful chemicals. If you want to be sure that you are sleeping on the highest-quality bedding possible, look for the STANDARD 100 OEKO-TEX(r) label on your sheets, comforter/duvet, sleeping mask, and pillowcases.
If a particular item is labelled OEKO-TEX(r) Standard 100 certified, you can rest assured that every component of the item, from fabric to accessories, has been thoroughly tested for up to 350 toxic chemicals, and is thus safe to your health.
