What is Egyptian Cotton?
Egyptian cotton is grown in Egypt in the Nile river valley, Egyptian cotton produces the finest longest fibers, which has been used for more than 140 years. Egyptian Cotton is grown solely in Egypt, in the Nile Delta, where fertile soils and a unique climate helps the cotton plant, Gossypium barbadense, grow slowly over long periods, producing an exceptionally fine fiber used in making the worlds most luxurious textiles. Egyptian long-staple cotton is also derived from the Gossypium barbadense species (like pima) pima, but is stronger and softer because of the warm, dry climate in the Nile river valley.
